90 French Corporations Asked the Government to Prioritise a Green Economic Recovery

Recently, 60 German corporations asked the government to prioritise the ‘ecological transition’ in its economic recovery plans. 90 French companies have now followed suit and requested that the Macron Administration do the same.

The French corporations include AXA, Danone, Siemens, Deloitte, Schneider and Société Générale, among others. These companies asked that financial resources offset for the economic recovery goes mainly to areas that have been identified as supportive of an ‘ecological transition’.

Even the oil company Total and Air France KLM joined the call for a prioritisation of the ‘ecological transition’. Air France KLM has negotiated a bailout package with the government that is contingent on it becoming ‘the most environmentally respectful airline’ worldwide.

The request by the German and French corporations came as a study was released by more than 200 of the world’s leading economists. The study concluded that a green recovery would be better for the economy and environment than any other available option.
